//169/ Streetstyle 021: Josie

Saarbrücken Straße, Berlin

//Meet the lovely Josie, who not only has a fantastic style but is also a talented designer herself...I will most certainly make sure that I photograph some of her work in the near future. Gunnar from Styleclicker also photographed her (and better at that) and unfortunately beat me to posting- take a look here.

//168/ Fashion Week Berlin 2011 // Summary

Berlin Fashion Week 2011 Highlights
Source:  Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Newsroom

//Somewhat delayed, but nonetheless obligatory: material from the Berlin Fashion Week, which is now already two weeks ago. Instead of posting all of the designers which can be quite tedious, I selected some of my favourite looks...so here you go: the best of the best (okay not quite, there are many good outfits/designers that I have omitted-not least Augustin Teboul whom you can view here).

//Overall the Berlin Fashion Week displayed quality and craftsmanship as can only be expected by the Germans, but some designers lacked consistency and for my taste there was not enough creative flair and freakiness... Having said that I was impressed by the calibre of the fashion students from the HTW: design at its best, executed with precision and deliberation.

//I will do the same for Cape Town Fashion Week 2011 which took place last week...I was unfortunately unable to attend since I am still in Berlin.

//166/ Look 009

Top: Alexander Wang- Cropped fine-knit wool sweater
Bottoms: Kelly Bergin- leather shorts
Sunglasses: Cutler and Gross- round-frame acetate sunglasses
Shoes: Pierre Hardy- buckle-fastening suede sandals
Lipstick: Mac Morange

//Quite frankly, I get nauseous at the sound of those two words "colour-blocking" these days, so I have taken a liking of abnormal severity to all shades of grey. Lightened up by some orange lipstick (granted, another trend that has been exhausted shamelessly) a mixture of various grey shades and textures can become quite appealing.

//The Mac Morange lipstick depicted above comes out somewhat reddish, so the best choice is really the Mac Pro Lipmix in orange which is quite simply irresistable (I would know, I have it smeared all over my white keyboard...)

//The Cutler and Gross sunglasses too are perfection: unlike other round-frame sunglasses they have a sleek timelessness about them that won't have you regretting them in a few months...
