//A hand-picked photograph of the one-and-only in 1994. Do you not feel overcome with a dreamlike sense of lightness?

// Thom Dolan. I love the proper yet beachy look of this. The neon pink keeps the collection from looking too earthy.

//A mind-blowingly beautiful collection by Erin Featherston. Drawing inspiration from the well-travelled woman, it has a clear colonial feel to it (which I am appreciating more and more lately...think big hats, all-white, printed dresses, exotic textures blah, blah, blah...). For more, take a look at her website.

//45/ Music: The Windy City
//Hmmm, maybe you are thinking what are these grainy-out-of-focus-no-good-photos doing here. Well they are from a gig I went to last night, and maybe you can tell that I am not used to taking photos at live events, much less with a digital camera (I shoot on film, only). I was super disappointed with the photographs I took but after touching them up slightly (I never do that, usually) and adding some noise (mostly to disguise the blurriness, but also to integrate them better) I think they are passable.
//And now to the actual matter: this is a new band on the Cape Town music scene...The Windy City. They have barely started (I think they are maybe half a year old) and already have a substantial fan base. Hmm well this is not very surprising, their music is very decent. Don't expect me to describe it please (errr what do I know hmm?) but listen to their music here or check out their website here aaaand definitely go to their gig at The Waiting Room on the 28th of December (providing you're in Cape Town). You're welcome.

//44/ Dress: Sheer
![]() |
| From Sheer to Eternity Publication: Vogue UK May 2010 Photography: Regan Cameron Stylist: Miranda Almond Model: Constance Jablonski |
//This is Constance Jablonski. I adore her since this video (it never fails to make me happy, despite the slight
cheesiness...). She has stunning, intelligent features, and is apparently great at lip-synching too.
//I love the colours of the clothing here, the nude, camel, olive-green, off-pink. Also, there is emphasis on textures which I find very important. Other than that I dig the short dress with long sleeves...what a cool twist on short and skimpy.

//43/ Cape Town: Murky Water
//Enough of the re-posting! I love (okay maybe more like than love) these two photographs for their ominousness (yes that is an actual word) and the contrast between the stillness in the first one and the movement in the second. Other than that they represent summer to me like none other: spontaneously plunging your body into icy cold water to relieve it from the sticky heat and spending more time under water than above...bliss!

| Publication: VMan FW 2010 Photography: Mario Testino Model: Candice Swanepoel |
//I was excited to find an editorial with South African model Candice Swanepoel shot by the Mario Testino. Okay, I admit I was hoping it would be something edgy with amazing clothing, but I guess half naked in a mens' magazine will have to do. She is gorgeous, don't you agree?

//40/ Film: Morocco
![]() |
| Film: Marocco (1930) Director: Josef Sternberg Starring: Gary Cooper, Marlene Dietrich and Adolphe Menjou |
//Marlene Dietrich is easily one in my top ten favourite actresses. She moves with such elegance and grace, but with a confidence that is very alluring. She has a very seductive kind of beauty...and is most probably the main attraction of the movie. The wardrobe of course is also stunning...
//For this movie she learnt her lines phonetically as she could hardly speak English...one would never guess! My favourite scene is one of the last where she marches off into the desert with her heels. What a lady.

//39/ Dress: Grazia
![]() |
| Publication: Grazia September 2010 Photography: Adrian Mesko Stylist: Anouk Colantoni Model: Rachel Rutt |
//Ahh I have never heard of Rachel Rutt, but she is lovely. She resembles Leighton Meester quite a bit (except of course Rachel is prettier). I don't like all of this clothing (second image...), but the coat !!: it is perfect. The length, the colour, the collar, the awesome belt!!...I would give a lot...The hat in the top image is also great...not quite a bowler (which I don't particularly care for) nor a floppy hat, and an untraditional colour (no white with black band): I like it! (it looks a lot like this, this and this...cool huh?)

| Sofia |
//Meet Sofia (I don't know if I spelt her name correctly...). I was mostly interested in her super cool corduroy (or denimn?) backpack, but I was didn't want to hassle her too much, so I took only this photo. I have seen her around since then, and she always looks very stylish...hopefully I will get more photographs of her. Her sunglasses are great.

//37/ Dress: Cruising
![]() |
| Publication: Harper’s Bazaar US 2007 Photography: Nathaniel Goldberg Model: Doutzen Kroes |
//It is seldom that any editorials blow me away anymore, there are just so many and they are all so alike! Having said that, this spread blew me away. If anyone can make curvy look good, it's Doutzen Kroes. I love the nautical theme (which never fails to look classy), the azure blue sea, the tranquil mood , Doutzen's soft beauty and and and... If this doesn't get you amped for summer I don't know what will.

| Vogue US March 2004 Photo Mert & Marcus Stylist Grace Coddington Model Natalia Vodianova |
//I found this recently and the background reminds me a lot of Cinema Paradiso.Natalia Vodianova has proven to be very consistent and is still doing work now, 20 years and two children after she started modelling...I find that impressive! And aren't the 60s-style dresses are lovely? She fills them so well, just like it should be.
